The general process looks something like this:

1. Discovery Call. During the complimentary 15-minute call we will talk about your vision and goals, and see if we are a good fit to collaborate on your project.

2. Prep Work. After you book your project, I will send you a list of questions to reflect on as well as a list of information to gather in preparation for launching the design phase.

3. Kick Off Video Call. As your project begins, we will have a virtual meeting to go over your questionnaires and content to make sure we are on the same page.

4. Design Begins. In this phase I take your vision, ideas, aesthetic preferences and website goals and transform them into tangible words and visuals that captivate your prospective clients.

5. Refining. Time to collaboratively refine & revise your new website until we get it just right. I will also attend to all the functionality, mobile responsiveness and basic SEO.

6. Website is launched! After your final payment, website ownership is transferred to you.

No, I do not. Amidst all the options for website hosting, Squarespace is sort of like the young trendy adult. It has beautiful features and intuitive, user-friendly navigation. If you already have your website hosted on a different platform, I can guide you in transferring your domain to Squarespace and most people feel like the process is quite easy.

There are 2 types of costs associated with website upkeep. First, you have to pay for your domain. Secondly, you have to pay for Squarespace hosting. Here is information on Squarespace pricing: https://www.squarespace.com/pricing

Keep in mind that if we work together, you will get a special promotional 6-month free trial from Squarespace (typically it’s only a 14-day free trial).

The answer largely depends on how quickly you are able to get me the things I will need from you. An average website takes 2-6 weeks to build.

That’s totally ok, you don’t need to have decided on the name in order to start the website process. As part of our collaboration, I will help you brainstorm through various options and advise you on marketing advantages/disadvantages when it comes to various name options.

Each package I offer allows for some consulting time built in to discuss topics such as these. If you feel like you need more coaching than is included in the package, I am happy to spend more time with you at a prorated hourly rate.

The basic things I will need from you are a completed questionnaire and at least 2 professional photos of you. Optional things include a logo, images that you may want to use, client testimonials you may want to include, quotes that you love etc.

You should plan to spend a minimum of 2 hours on the questionnaire I will send to you. It has sections on practical info, aesthetic preferences and reflection questions about you, your passions and your vision as related to your work.

If you already worked with a professional copywriter and have your website content ready to go, I would be happy to give you a quote on the design-only service.

However, if you have some content that you have written yourself, in MOST cases (unless you have some significant experience with writing for websites specifically!) the writing still requires quite a bit of editing and “adding to”.

Feel free to send me an email with a copy of your copy (pun intended) and I can let you know if it feels “complete enough” to me to just use for a website as is.

I ask for a 50% deposit before we begin the project and the final payment is due at completion. After your final payment is made, I will transfer Squarespace website ownership to you.

I prefer payments via check or money order. If you wish to use a credit card, there is a 3% processing fee.

Absolutely! I charge my hourly consulting fee for that. Just send me an email and let me know you are interested in that.

One of the things I love about Squarespace is that it’s very user-friendly, so when your website is complete, you should be able to get in and make minor edits yourself without having to pay someone to do it. I am available to give you a brief tutorial on how to use it once we near the end of our design project.
